A film classic, Le Mepris was my dream place and the inspiration for my installation Malacapri. The film’s 50s and 60s elegance, the slow drifting apart of the couple, toxic attractions and relationships, and the recurring, unchanging melody are all things I find fascinating. My installation consists of a rug, a painting and a collage of private pictures. Approaching the photographs, a loudspeaker is triggered by a sensor and the film’s ominous melody starts to play. This work is about the interweaving of personal and cinematic fiction.
